Poker is a game that has a little luck and a lot of technique attached to it. If you opponent bets a high amount of money, it shouldn’t set bells ringing in your head. In most of the cases, such high bets are placed only under dire circumstances. This would be if the stack of chips in front of the player happens to be dwindling. If this is the case, then you should immediately counter the call and raise it until the other player goes all in. This is of course assuming that you too have reasonably good cards that are worth playing with.
